Whorticulture.com Wants To Hear From You! What Horror Movies Would You Suggest?
Since I've started this blog, people come to me all the time for suggestions. I've even had a few people come up and tell me they've never really watched horror movies and ask for my suggestions on which ones they should watch. After I stop choking and tuck my eyeballs neatly back into their sockets, I rattle off a list of ten thousand movies I think they should feast on.
So let's play a little game, shall we? Pretend someone just came up to you and said "I've never seen a horror movie before, which one should I watch?" Leave as many suggestions as you want in the comments, I'll tally them up later.
Thanks,
Management

Dawn of the Dead
Trick R Treat
Freezer
Halloween (the remake *ducks flying shoe*)
The Entity
But for anyone not used to them, so needs to be broken in slowly:
Lost Boys
Shaun of the Dead
Have you seen Hot Fuzz? Its by the same guys as Shaun of the Dead, and considered horror too.
BTW, I would have said 28 days later and The Descent too!
@StarsMum
Steven King's Pet Semetary. Two words: Zombie. Baby. THE END.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad so many of you are putting The Descent. I love that movie, but for some reason I always forget about it! I have the sequel in my netflix queue, hopefully going to watch it soon.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are fucking awesome. You've put so many I love, and so many I haven't seen!
No mention of "Teeth" that movie gives me the willies. Or actually gives my willy the willies.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to agree with the recommendations for Trick R Treat too.
ReplyDeleteI've made everyone I know watch it. Not sure why it never got any love in the theatres but it deserves a watch for any horror fan.
I say
ReplyDelete- Art of the Devil 1 and 2
great Movies!
;)
I have two. Stephen King's IT. That movie started my fear of clowns. And Ringu, the first movie I saw that started my love of J-Horror. That, and it scared the shit out of me.
ReplyDeleteOriginal Exorcist!
ReplyDeleteDawn of the Dead!
28 Days later!
I know I would have more if I had any friends/family that would actually watch shit like this with me. I get scared really easily
=)
Oh god, there's so many to choose, but, I think I'll go with My Super Psycho Sweet 16, Parts 1 + 2, theyre just really good movies, considering they're prouced by MTV for TV you'd think they'd be awful like their other TV-Movie spin-offs, but, it wasnt, it was great, it has all the quality of a classic 80's horror flick which is refreshing, the plot is really different to, it's such an original movie. So worth checking out.
ReplyDeleteThe Descent for sure.
ReplyDeleteSilent Hill
The Hostel Series
Carrie
The Exorcist
The first 3 Saw's
The Ruins
The Poltergeist movies
I have a ton more, just can't think of them right now! I have trouble with titles sometimes.
