Scream 4 sucked hardcore. I figured out who the killers were after the first 15 minutes.

Gail-Performance was okay nothing to write home about
Dewey- same ol retarded Dewey nothing new
The remaining cast did an okay job with the acting. Moreover, same shit just different year.
I'm seeing it later today, but not sure I can beat that last review.
ReplyDeleteScream 4 is all about the reboot. It talks about genre reboots and the movie itself hopes to be a reboot of the Scream franchise. Truthfully the only thing that really helps franchises is the box office.
ReplyDeleteThe above review said "Same shit just different year" which, truthfully, addresses most horror movies with anything 2 and up in the title. If that really is your thinking than of course Scream 4 isn't going to be for you. Neither is any Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. If you enjoyed the original Scream than there's a good chance you'll enjoy this movie.
You expect certain things from a Scream movie compared to other horror franchises. The horror trivia, bits of comedy and social commentary are still there and (luckily) current. You know there are going to be false leads and possible twists, but if you spend the whole time guessing who the killer is then you'll miss the movie.
Movies are about the ride not just the destination and Scream 4 was enjoyable. It wasn't perfect as ensemble movies have a lot of characters to service and a few usually aren't well developed, but once again, it's a horror movie and most characters are glorified pin cushions.
Overall I enjoyed Scream 4 and would recommend it to anyone who likes the Scream franchise, it's what you expect from a Scream movie with a lot more fake blood thrown in. It kept my attention the whole way through and was entertaining, which is the main reason I go to see movies.
I thought it sucked. Then again 1-3 sucked so I shouldn't be surprised. It tried waaaaayyyyyy too hard to be funny and trendy but it was stupid, stale and played out. I'd like my money back now.
